Criminal Investigation: Be on the Lookout Analysis

The police department in Port St. Lucie is asking the public for assistance in locating two house burglary suspects. A man who appears to be wearing a blue labor uniform short-sleeved shirt knocked on the front door of a property in Port St Lucie along Quay Street on Monday in the early morning. After no one replied, the man climbed into a dark-colored SUV and drove outside the driveway. Several moments later, the glass patio rear door broke, and the screen door was slit near the handle. Two men in blue labor uniform shirts walked inside the house. Once they discovered that somebody was inside, they fled. The two suspects are black guys between the ages of 20 and 30 years who have a substantial body physique, stand approximately 6 feet tall, and have short hair.

The police burglary report correctly captures the suspects’ body features and the vehicle that should be used to identify the suspects. However, the pictorial information is scanty in several instances, thereby making it difficult to understand its purpose. When describing the age of suspects, giving a range of between ten years stretches the legitimacy of the information and leaves little room for identifying the right suspects (Warnick & Molino, 2020). The picture fails to capture the faces of the suspects and the exact make of the vehicle leaving the crucial information to speculation.

The product effectively describes the crime that took place, but there is a need for improvement in the future. The camera needs to be clear to capture mandatory components that will reduce the scope of the suspects and provide a better chance of capturing the real suspects. However, as it is, the information given in the product will be very challenging to capture the perpetrators of the burglary.
