Problems of Working with Disabled People

John was a local gimp, lived there all his life, and was a prominent member of the community. John has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Commentary Stress Disorder. He also had hearing problems and permanent brain damage. The Gympie Regional Council received hundreds of unsubstantiated accusations from John. In the end, the Council ruled that John could not visit any establishments that were controlled, inhabited or operated by them. The target audience for this work is people with disabilities as well as people who do not have an understanding of the problem. The main message of the work is to highlight the need for changes in policies towards people with disabilities.

Discrimination against people with disabilities happens when they are mistreated or are denied the same chances as others in comparable situations. The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in many sectors of mainstream society, including work, education, obtaining or utilizing services, renting or purchasing a home or unit, and accessing public spaces (Productivity Commission, 2004). Physical, sensory, neurodegenerative, learning and behavioral impairments, infections or ailments, physical deformity, medical conditions, and work-related injuries are all covered under the DDA. It includes impairments that people have had in the past, as well as future perspectives on disabilities and disabilities that are supposed to exist. The DDA protects persons with disabilities who are followed by an assistant, translator, or reader; are followed by a teacup poodle, such as a guiding, listening, or support dog; or utilize technology or aids, such as a wheelchair or a hearing aid.

Because of difficulties with managing time, managing money, emotion regulation, and lifestyle choices, people with ADHD may experience significant levels of stress. Legacies and policies are critical components of lifestyle adjustments that help persons with ADHD live happier lives (Jackson, 2018). People with ADHD are frequently only a few steps away from a much-delighted existence. A new job, a new fitness routine or unique knowledge of who people are and how they came to be this way might make the difference. Understanding oneself in medical terms rather than moral terms is one of the most fundamental adjustments.

Almost everyone suffers problems and tribulations at some point in their lives. Barriers can be more frequent and have a more significant impact on people with impairments. Multiple hurdles can sometimes make functioning exceedingly difficult, if not impossible, for persons with impairments. Factors in a person’s surroundings that impede functionality and cause impairment due to their absence or presence (Jackson, 2018). People with disabilities have the freedom option of choosing where and with whom they reside.

Attitude obstacles are the most basic and lead to the development of other barriers. Some individuals may not realize that challenges in traveling to or entering a location might prevent a person with a handicap from partaking in ordinary life and events. Persons with disabilities are frequently stereotyped, believing that their quality of life is low or that their limitations make them sick (Jackson, 2018). These views may stem from people’s perceptions of disability in society—disability may be viewed as a traumatic event, something that has to be treated or prevented, a consequence of misbehavior, or a sign of a lack of capacity to behave as anticipated in society.

Persons with impairments that impact their hearing, talking, understanding, thinking, or comprehending have difficulty communicating and interacting in different ways than people without these limitations. Physical barriers are structural obstructions that prohibit or restrict movement or entry in synthetic or natural surroundings. Lack of understanding or enforcement of legacies and policies that mandate events and projects to be inclusive to persons with disabilities are commonly cited as policy impediments. Social barriers are factors that influence how individuals are born, develop, live, study, work, and age – also known as psychosocial factors – and can lead to lower functioning in individuals with disabilities. Transportation obstacles occur when a person’s capacity to be autonomous and operate in society is hampered by a lack of suitable transportation.

Disability inclusion includes individuals with disabilities in everyday tasks and opportunities to take on studies comparable to their counterparts who do not have impairments. This is more than merely motivating individuals; it also entails ensuring that the community or organization has sufficient rules and practices in place. Involvement in social actions, using state resources such as special legacies and policies, moving around within communities, obtaining proper health care, developing relationships, and engaging in other day-to-day behaviors are all examples of culturally regular routines.

People with disabilities require the nation’s health care services for the same purposes that everyone else does: to be healthy, active, and involved in their communities. A public health approach aims to employ preventative measures to help populations, in this case, persons with disabilities, have the most significant potential health effect (Jackson, 2018). Public health is distinct from clinical health, which is essential for individual health in that it focuses on enhancing the well-being of groups or communities.

When the requirements of individuals with disabilities are taken into account, products, organizations, and infrastructure are designed or changed to allow people of all capabilities to use them. Accommodations are modifications made to products, processes, or systems that would enable a person with a handicap to use them to their full potential. Accommodation may also be a change to a current framework or procedure that allows someone with a disability or activity constraint to participate more fully. Accommodations for those who are blind or have other visual disabilities include Braille, giant print, and audiobooks.

Assistive technologies (ATs) are gadgets or devices that enable people with disabilities to participate fully in everyday activities. ATs can help enhance functional capacity and make regular life chores more feasible by providing assistance that allows a person to commute, communicate with others, study, work, and participate in clubs and organizations. Smartphones have significantly increased the quantity of assistive technology for those with visual or hearing impairments, as well as those who have difficulty successfully articulating their thoughts due to mental or physical restrictions.

Summing up, this work highlights the social problems of working with people with disabilities. The work was written with the aim of focusing attention on the problem of the disabled. John was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and post-traumatic traumatic stress disorder. At the moment, it can be testified that the policy towards people with disabilities does not work properly. People with ADHD are usually just a few steps away from a happy life. A new job, a new exercise regimen, or in particular the question of who people are and how they got there can make a huge difference. One significant modification is to view oneself in medical terminology rather than in terms of emotions. When the needs of people with disabilities are taken into account, goods, institutions and equipment are built or adapted to people of all abilities.
