Internal and External Trends in Criminal Justice System
Internal and external trends are important elements of the modern criminal justice system. They play a big role in rapid intervention, as they are aimed at more effective development of criminal law policy and implementation of reactions. Both external and internal factors present various challenges that are important to consider in order to implement a more successful response system. In terms of internal trends, poor leadership and unhappy coworkers can be problems (Dunlea & Heiphetz, 2020). Since leadership among teams and the well-being of employees are among the main factors for the successful implementation of activities, difficulties in this niche can be fatal (Hollywood et al., 2018). Therefore, a policy aimed at identifying these trends can establish a more coherent and efficient work of workers. External trends include an increase in the number of crimes or the number of prisoners sent to serve their sentences in special institutions. In this regard, an intervention for the safety of the population must be provided. Otherwise, if the number of crimes continues to grow, then civilians will lose faith and hope in those who are called upon to ensure security in the country.
Thus, external and internal trends should be reduced as much as possible. If I were developing a tactical plan to reduce possible trends and their consequences, then I would prefer to conduct a SWOT analysis. It is one of the ways of strategic planning, in which it is possible to identify external and internal factors by dividing them into categories: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (Benzaghta et al., 2021). This method is preferable and effective, because after its implementation, all the weaknesses and strengths of the trends can be clearly traced, and the development of appropriate policies can be started. Therefore, if among internal problems, the difficulty of transferring information stands out, then the analysis will allow one to see ways to solve the current situation.
