Police officers play a very crucial role in controlling juvenile delinquency. It is believed that police officers have better tolerance when it comes to juvenile delinquency because they are usually the first individuals at a crime scene or where there is an issue. The officers solve these small crimes committed by youths in a slightly different way than the state and federal laws; they are always soft with them depending on their crimes. The main role of police officers is usually to serve and protect their citizens, but they usually go the extra mile to prevent crimes. The police organization conducts college and school seminars to educate youths about the disadvantages of being jailed and a criminal (Nanodrop, 2021). The police officers undergo training to prevent and control juvenile delinquency.
Effective police interaction with the youths is a curriculum in which police officers are trained to understand youth behaviors and practices. The practice aims to reduce the probability that the youth and police interaction can result in a police effect on the minority group of youths. They are taught disproportionate minority contact and adolescents by certified police trainers using various methods: class discussion, role-playing, and videos (Nanodrop, 2021). Various ways to reduce and prevent juvenile delinquency are designed to promote juvenile and police interaction. The interaction between them can increase in various ways, such as hosting collaborative projects in which the police are involved; they should be involved in activities such as basketball, football, or bike riding. Moreover, the police team should be present in various sports activities, create rapport with the youths, be present for the youths during their patrols, and have role-playing scenarios to improve their interactions.
