Impact of New Technology on the Criminal Justice System

In recent years, a number of technological advancements have drastically changed the way criminal justice reports are written. To begin, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in report writing has become increasingly popular. AI programs are able to quickly scan through large amounts of data and identify key elements and trends that can be used to inform the report (Završnik, 2020). Additionally, AI can provide recommendations to investigators and police officers on how to conduct investigations more efficiently.

The deployment of cloud computing has had a notable influence on criminal justice report writing. This technology gives officers the capability to rapidly generate reports with greater precision, and the ability to access the data from any device (Završnik, 2021). Furthermore, cloud computing has enabled better collaboration between officers, allowing for a smoother exchange of information between different sections of law enforcement.

The criminal justice report writing process has been further altered by the introduction of data analytics. This technology allows officers to examine vast quantities of data to recognize patterns and trends that can be used to supplement the report (Završnik, 2021). It can also be employed to locate possible suspects or witnesses and to monitor the progression of an investigation.

Finally, the use of wearable technology has also had an impact on criminal justice report writing. Wearable devices such as cameras and audio recorders can be used to collect evidence, allowing officers to quickly gather information for their reports. Moreover, wearable devices can provide real-time updates to officers, allowing them to quickly respond to any changes in an investigation.

Looking ahead, new technologies such as machine learning and natural language processing are likely to have a significant impact on criminal justice report writing. The utilization of the latest technologies will afford law enforcement personnel the ability to rapidly examine vast amounts of data and generate more precise and comprehensive reports. Lastly, the implementation of virtual reality and augmented reality could permit officers to create more captivating portrayals when constructing reports, offering a greater understanding of the events that transpired (Završnik, 2020). Technological improvements will persist and have a substantial effect on the way criminal justice reports are composed in the future.
